    13-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded in the Hazelwood Neighborhood

    Portland, OR – According to the police officials, the shooting occurred n Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 3:56p.m.

    PPD officers responded to a report of someone shot in the 2000 block of Southeast 112th Avenue.

    When officers arrived they located a wounded juvenile male. Paramedics responded and the victim was transported to the hospital. He is listed in critical condition.

    The suspect or suspects left the scene and have not been located. No arrests have been made. No suspect information is being released at this time.

    The Focused Intervention Team (FIT) responded to assist with the investigation. Detectives with the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) are actively investigating.

    The shooting happened in a busy area and detectives believe there may be witnesses who have not spoken to investigators.

    Eyewitnesses or video evidence is crucial in solving these cases and crime victims need people to come forward with information.
