Grants Pass, OR – The Grants Pass Police Department (GPPD) is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rogue River Highway. According to GPPD, officers responded to the scene and found multiple bullet casings scattered across the parking lot of an apartment complex. However, the suspect had fled the area before authorities arrived.

The shooting reportedly involved multiple rounds fired at occupied apartments, though fortunately, no one was injured. Police have not yet released details on any potential suspects but have indicated that the individuals involved are considered “armed and dangerous.”

The investigation has been classified as serious, and the GPPD has enlisted the help of detectives along with the Chief Deputy Attorney for the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office to assist in the inquiry.

“Due to the seriousness of the shooting, the involvement of the District Attorney’s Office is to ensure a thorough investigation,” a GPPD spokesperson said in a news release.

At this time, law enforcement is asking the public for assistance. Anyone with information or video footage that could help identify the suspects is urged to contact the Grants Pass Police Department at 541-450-6260. Authorities are particularly interested in any surveillance footage from nearby businesses or residents that could provide further leads.

As of Thursday morning, no arrests had been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
