Medford, OR – A Coquille man was arrested earlier this month in Medford after authorities uncovered a stash of firearms, drugs, and cash during a search of his hotel room. Joshua Daniel Felker, 33, was taken into custody following an investigation into his suspected possession of stolen firearms.
According to the Medford Police Department, detectives received credible information indicating that Felker was in town and potentially in possession of firearms that had been stolen. The investigation led authorities to a hotel in South Medford, where Felker was located.
A search warrant was obtained, and upon executing it, detectives recovered 13 firearms, including handguns and rifles, as well as body armor. In addition to the weapons, officers also found a significant amount of methamphetamine and large sums of cash.
Lieutenant Don Lane, speaking on the investigation, confirmed that one of the firearms had been confirmed as stolen and was found to have a suppressor attached, which was also stolen. While investigators began processing the remaining weapons, it was not immediately clear whether they were also stolen. Authorities have since started researching the firearms in an effort to uncover additional details.
Felker’s arrest highlights ongoing concerns about gun theft and illegal firearm possession in the region. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and further charges may be forthcoming as the investigation unfolds.
