Medford, OR – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced a successful New Year’s Eve DUII (Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants) patrol operation, reporting a significant number of traffic stops and arrests while ensuring public safety on the roads.

Throughout the night, deputies made approximately 200 traffic stops, which resulted in 21 DUII arrests. In addition to the arrests, only one minor crash was reported. Notably, the driver at fault in the incident was also arrested for DUII.

Deputy Aaron Grissom, a patrol officer with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, expressed satisfaction with the results of the operation. “It was a huge success,” Grissom said. “I believe it really contributed to the safety of our community and helped everybody to get home safe.”

The heightened patrols are part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to reduce impaired driving, particularly during high-risk periods like New Year’s Eve. With many people celebrating the holiday, the Sheriff’s Office worked to ensure drivers could get home safely while discouraging drunk driving.

The operation’s success highlights the importance of vigilant law enforcement in keeping the roads safe, especially during the holiday season.
