Grants Pass, Ore. – April 29, 2025 – The Grants Pass Major Crimes Team and accident reconstruction specialists are investigating a disturbing incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in a local parking lot.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., the Grants Pass Police Department (GPPD) responded to a call reporting that a car had struck a woman in the parking lot of the Albertsons store on Allen Creek Road. Upon arrival, officers were joined by Oregon State Police, Grants Pass Fire & Rescue, and American Medical Response units. Emergency responders quickly transported the injured woman to Three Rivers Medical Center. She is currently listed in serious but stable condition, according to GPPD.

The driver of the vehicle, a male, was taken into custody by police. Authorities say the car not only hit the woman but also collided with two parked vehicles in the lot before coming to a stop.

Police are treating the incident as an assault, though further details are still being gathered as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not released the identity of the driver or the woman involved at this time.

The investigation remains active, with the Major Crimes Team and accident reconstruction team continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.

Local residents and shoppers were left shocked by the incident, as the Albertsons parking lot is typically a busy area for both grocery shoppers and those running errands in the neighborhood.
