Medford, OR – A domestic dispute turned violent on Monday evening, resulting in a shooting that left a woman hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Corey Davison, 49, of Ashland, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The shooting occurred around 5:49 p.m. in the 40 block of Alida Street. According to Ashland Police Department (APD), officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots coming from an apartment, including one from the victim herself. Upon arrival at the scene, officers reported hearing additional gunfire and immediately requested backup.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called to assist, and officers quickly learned that Davison had left the apartment, shouting suicidal and homicidal remarks. Law enforcement officials used a taser to subdue Davison, who was taken into custody without further incident.

Davison has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree, and unlawful use of a weapon. His mother, the victim, was shot twice. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in stable condition after receiving “life-saving efforts” from first responders at the scene.

APD investigators have stated that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute, though the exact motive is still under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Lindsey Rochon Evertt at 541-552-2120.

The case remains under investigation, and more details will be released as they become available.
