Medford, OR – Medford firefighters took home bragging rights after defeating the Medford Police Department 4-2 in this year’s Turf War, a Fire and Police Classic that brought first responders and the community together.
The annual matchup also served as a fundraiser, with the community raising $20,000 for the White Heart Foundation. The organization supports veterans and first responders.
Medford Fire Department thanked everyone who attended the event, cheered on the teams and helped make the fundraiser a success.
The department also thanked Medford police for taking part in the match, which gave firefighters the chance to claim the Turf War trophy and hold onto bragging rights until next year.
The event combined a friendly competition between local firefighters and police officers with an effort to support veterans and first responders through the White Heart Foundation.
