Medford, Ore. – A Medford man has been arrested on multiple charges of sexual abuse following a grand jury indictment. On March 3, 33-year-old Anthony James Grant was taken into custody after being indicted on charges including sodomy in the second degree and four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.

The arrest was made by the Medford Police Department, although few details surrounding the case have been made public. Authorities have not disclosed further information about the alleged victims or the circumstances of the alleged abuse.

Lieutenant Geoff Kirkpatrick of the Medford Police Department emphasized the crucial role that disclosures from children play in such cases. “It’s really important that when a child does disclose, that’s reported so we can start the process of keeping that child safe from any further abuse,” Kirkpatrick stated.

Kirkpatrick also reminded the public of the importance of vigilance in cases of suspected child abuse. He urged that if individuals suspect a child may be in danger, they should report it immediately to either law enforcement or the Department of Human Services’ Child Welfare Division. Reports can also be made anonymously by calling the 24-hour hotline at 855-503-SAFE (7233).

The case comes amid National Child Abuse Prevention Month, an observance aimed at raising awareness and educating communities on how to prevent child abuse and ensure the safety and well-being of children. This initiative serves as a reminder for everyone to stay alert and report suspected abuse to protect vulnerable children in the community.

As the investigation continues, authorities have stated that they will release additional information as it becomes available.
