Pet of the Week: Midnight and Beatrix

MEDFORD, Ore. — If you’re looking for a great cuddle-buddy who’d love be your pal for loads of fun, come meet Midnight. This 4-year-old Pit Bull is intelligent and loves to play. He’s a big fan of fetching and tug-of-war so get your arm ready. He was adopted out no too long ago but returned because the roommate of his person said he didn’t get along with him. We haven’t seen this kind of behavior at the Shelter, but his ideal family should have experience with this breed. While he can be head-strong, it’s all about giving him the proper balance of mental and physical stimulus, not to mention inclusion in day-to-day family activities. Dogs love their humans and if they aren’t included enough, they get bored and try to find entertainment for themselves. There are options to manage behaviors for any bored dog and obedience training can certainly help. When times come to leave this boy outside for short periods of time, he will require a very secure fence. After all he’s a strong boy! That also means he is strong on a leash as well, but he can learn to mellow out. If you want an active loving dog to share your life, Midnight might just be the right CanineKId for you! Please call the animal shelter to make an appointment to meet him. 541-774-6654. He will be so happy to see you!

Our sweet feline girl is Beatrix — a gray/gold tabby who is 3 years old. She came to the shelter as a stray and will start off being a bit shy, but scratch that pretty head and show her you love to pet her and she’ll melt into your lap. She is a petite one with a lovely purrr that she’ll share with someone who respects her need for a gentle approach. Do you live a quiet lifestyle and want a beautiful tabby-girl to share it with? Come meet Beatrix and tell her how pretty you think she is.
And for the Cat-lovers in our region, JCAS & FOTAS want you to know that this is the time of year for our “Home for the Holidays” promotion for our Feline Friends. Now through January 31,2021 some of our adult cats are available for a special holiday adoption fee of $30. Beatrix is one of the special kitties, so call right away to make your appointment to meet this gentle girl!

Jackson County Animal Shelter and Friends of the Animal Shelter want to wish all of our wonderful Rogue Valley and nearby communities a wonderful Holiday Season and a very Happy New Year. Your support during this complicate year meant the world to us and our wonderful companion animals!!! Thank you so much!
