Police officials said the 22-year-old mother, Reyana, was taken into custody and later charged with child abuse causing no great bodily harm after she allegedly repeatedly hit her newborn daughter and sent a video of herself doing so to her ex-boyfriend, who is also the baby’s father.

Local news outlets reportedly that the baby’s dad, who was not identified, reportedly showed the video to a police officer, in which his ex-girlfriend can be seen hitting the 2-month-old baby while yelling and cu-sing at the infant. Authorities also said the 22-year-old mom also sent a photo of the baby to her ex-boyfriend, in which the newborn child was lying on the bed with a blanket covering her nose and mouth, which appeared to restrict the baby’s breathing.

According to the police officials, the 22-year-old mom also sent this text message to the baby’s dad: “I’m stuck with this thing until she dies. t makes me so sick that she doesn’t have a different father and I can’t love her because she has a part of you. I’m gonna enjoy my 20s. Left ur spe-m in the house with a cat.”

In a follow-up message, the young mom said that she’d punch the 2-month-old baby dead in the face, police officials said. The responding officers took the baby to the hospital, who didn’t have any visible injuries. During an interview with investigators, the young mother reportedly made a full confession.
