“We’ve had a long history of great partnerships between the fire agencies in both states, simply because we work together so often,” Weber said. “When fire season arrives, and we inevitably end up on a fire together, there’s that sense of familiarity — ‘I know you, I’ve met you, I know who to call.’ It makes it a lot easier to navigate those chaotic moments.”
This year’s conference highlighted the importance of building relationships before the fire season begins. The goal is to ensure that when responders face a crisis, they can quickly and effectively coordinate with one another.
