MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford Fire Department (MFD) responded to a structure fire at the Medford Plaza Apartments on Tuesday, April 15. Firefighters arrived at the scene and swiftly contained the blaze, which was isolated to a laundry room appliance within the building.

According to MFD, the fire was reported early in the afternoon and was quickly brought under control, preventing any further damage to the structure. Authorities confirmed that the fire did not spread beyond the laundry room area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all residents were safely evacuated as a precaution.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials have stated that it appears to have originated from one of the appliances in the laundry room. Crews worked diligently to ventilate the building and ensure that the fire did not reignite.

The Medford Fire Department urges residents to regularly check and maintain household appliances to prevent similar incidents. As the investigation continues, MFD will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Residents of the Medford Plaza Apartments have expressed relief at the quick response of emergency crews, noting that the situation could have been much worse without their prompt action.
