Medford, OR – According to the state officials, during their meeting, they reportedly determined that revision of the Wolf Plan was not needed at this time, while directing staff to focus on addressing key challenges including wolf-livestock conflict, reducing illegal take, and population monitoring. Medford, OREGON – According to the city officials, Foldum Corporation has installed 30 structures, which will house 60 individuals. Those individuals will move into the Crossings within the next couple of weeks.  This project meets one of the City Council’s 2023-25 Biennial Goals for housing, which is to continue the implementation of the Homeless System Action Plan to increase access to shelter and transitional/permanent supportive housing.  In June 2023, City Councilors approved a contract for $586,350 with Foldum Corporation. Medford, OR – According to the ODOT officials, last month, working crews shifted the travel lanes and closed two left-hand turns in the area as they continue work on the Bend North Corridor project. Long dark days and wet weather have made seeing the lane shifts a challenge. Starting the first week in January, we will be restriping the area and adding recessed reflectors into the striping to help people know where they need to be. Medford, OR – Medford Fire Department officials said this unfortunate incident occurred in the 300 block of Newtown Street. Fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire.  The responding crews discovered a working fire with heavy involvement in one unit and the attic. Medford Police assisted crews with removing occupants from the uninvolved apartments. Fire investigators were on scene working to determine the origin and cause. There were no reported injuries to the occupants or firefighters.

According to the police officials, the 19-year-old son and half brother, later identified as Jayden, was arrested after he reportedly killed his 38-year-old dad Jonathan, his 5-year-old half brother Kayden and his dad’s girlfriend, 33-year-old Hanoi. Police later charged the 19-year-old man with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, per reports. The suspect reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the victims to death. According to the court documents, the 34-year-old mom, Katie, pleaded guilty to chronic neglect of a child resulting in emotional damage and false imprisonment after she was arrested earlier this year for neglecting her two children. The mother is now facing a maximum of 36 years in prison.  Prosecutors say the defendant endangered the physical, mental, and emotional health of her two children (7 and 9 years old) for almost a year.
