According to the court documents, the 49-year-old defendant, later identified as Jay, was sentenced to life in prison after he killed his 25-year-old girlfriend Jennifer and her unborn baby. The man, who was given two life sentences, reportedly beat the woman to death by hitting her and stomping her on her stomach and head over and over again. Prosecutors said that Jennifer’s friend, Jessica, witnessed the fatal incident and told authorities what happened.

During the trial, Jennifer’s friend reportedly said that Jay picked up and slammed his 6 months pregnant girlfriend to the ground at least 5 times. The woman also testified how Jay pinned his pregnant girlfriend against a wall while punching her repeatedly. Another witness told investigators that Jay beat Jennifer even after she was down on her knees. She also said that Jay threw Jennifer down on the tile floor and kicked her several times in the face and stomach area.

She also testified that she saw Jay stomp on the Jennifer’s face and stomach area. When officers arrived on scene, the witness told them that Jennifer fell unconscious, lying motionless and no longer screaming for help. Even then, Jay kept kicking and punching her. The responding officers found the victim lying on the floor. The pregnant victim, who was severely bruised, was rushed to the hospital. Doctors were able to deliver the baby, who unfortunately died only 20 minutes later. The 25-year-old woman was also pronounced dead.

Per reports, Jay reportedly told prosecutors that his pregnant girlfriend was the aggressor, and that if he ever touched her, it was to stop her from striking him. Jay denied ever hitting Jennifer, let alone killing her. He also told investigators that when he left that night, she was alive and she was cussing at him like she always do. Investigation revealed that the shoe tread marks on Jennifer’s skull matched the shoes Jay wore on the fatal night.
