Police officials said the 24-year-old boyfriend, later identified as Joshua, was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder after he reportedly strangled his 15-year-old girlfriend Amarise then called his cousin and a friend and told them that the girl was foaming at the mouth. The cousin then called the authorities and reported the situation.

Amarise, who had been in a dating relationship with Joshua, was found dead with a necklace suck in her thr0at. Per reports, neighbors reportedly told police that they could hear the two arguing into the early hours of the fatal night. The next day, Joshua reportedly called his friend and cousin and told them that the 15-year-old child was foaming at the mouth and he did not know what to do. The responding officers reportedly found the girl covered with blanket.

First responders discovered that her neck was cut and red. The medical examiner told authorities that the cause of death was determined to be strangulation and that the girl’s windpipe was crushed. During an interview with investigators, the 24-year-old man reportedly said that he and his girlfriend fell asleep together and that he panicked when she did not wake up the next day. He also asserted that he and Amarise did not argue the previous night.

During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that Joshua’s Google search history included 50 searches related to: strangulation, the victim by name, the death penalty, murder, how to explain an asphyxiation death, the penalty for murder and overdosing on medication, texts, various ‘inculpatory’ web searches, and PDF downloads. Joshua is being held without bond.
