Medford, OR — A local man was arrested on Friday afternoon after allegedly assaulting two individuals, one of whom was bitten by the suspect’s dog during the incident.

Ronald Cameron Boss Jr., a resident of Cottage Grove, was taken into custody by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office following an alleged altercation on Row River Road. The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. in the 37200 Block of Row River Road, prompting a response from sheriff’s deputies.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Boss is facing multiple charges, including second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. Authorities said that two victims were found at the scene, one of whom had reportedly been bitten by Boss’ dog. Investigators believe that Boss may have encouraged the animal to attack one of the victims during the assault.

Following a brief search, Boss was located and arrested a short time later. The identities of the victims have not been released, and their current conditions remain unclear.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the assault and has asked anyone with additional information to come forward. They can be reached at 541-682-4141.

This incident highlights the potential dangers of animal involvement in violent crimes, with law enforcement emphasizing the seriousness of both the physical assault and the use of a dog as a weapon.
