MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Police Department announced Wednesday evening that Crater Lake Avenue will be closed for an extended period of time between Alpine Court and Temple Drive due to a serious crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

The crash, which occurred earlier in the evening, resulted in the motorcyclist sustaining serious injuries. Emergency responders transported the individual to the hospital for treatment.

In response to the incident, the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team has been dispatched to investigate the crash. The team is working to determine the exact cause of the collision, though details remain limited at this time.

Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes to minimize congestion and ensure the safety of first responders and investigators working at the scene. The closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period while the investigation continues.

Drivers are advised to monitor local news and traffic updates for further information on when the road will reopen.
