Crescent, Ore. – A 34-year-old Crescent man lost his life in a fatal crash on Highway 97 near milepost 176 in Klamath County on Monday morning.

According to the Oregon State Police, the accident occurred just before 9:00 a.m. when a northbound Buick LeSabre, driven by Leif Taylor Celusta, veered off course. Preliminary investigations revealed that Celusta lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane, where it collided with a semi-truck.

Despite life-saving efforts, Celusta was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the collision.

Investigators are currently examining factors such as speed and road conditions as potential causes of the crash. Authorities have not disclosed whether weather played a role in the accident, but they are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially during hazardous conditions.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with further information to come forward.
