Medford, OR — Firefighters have made significant progress in containing a three-alarm fire that broke out earlier this week in the 300 block of Front Street. The fire, which began at the Medford Mattress warehouse, has been fully contained to the original structure, with only a few remaining hot spots to address. Overhaul operations are ongoing as crews continue their efforts to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.

While the bulk of the fire damage was confined to the warehouse, substantial exposure damage was reported at neighboring Buttercloud Bakery. Public Works crews remain on the scene to assist with cleanup, and road closures in the area are expected to remain in place for the time being. 10th Street, Front Street, and 11th Street are all closed as a safety precaution for both first responders and the public.

Pacific Power has successfully completed repairs to the utility lines that were damaged in the blaze, and power has been restored to the area. Fortunately, the building where the fire originated was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

The Medford Fire Department, supported by mutual aid partners, continues to monitor the situation as crews work into the evening. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local authorities are urging residents and drivers to continue avoiding the area while emergency crews complete their work. Road closures and cleanup operations are expected to last for several more hours as the fire’s aftermath is addressed.
