Medford, OR – A serious pedestrian crash has led to the closure of the far-right lane on Riverside Avenue at 9th Street in downtown Medford. The incident, which occurred earlier today, has prompted a significant emergency response from local authorities.

Medford Police Department (MPD) confirmed the crash involved a pedestrian, though details on the individual’s condition have not been released at this time. Authorities have labeled the incident as “serious,” and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.

The far-right lane of Riverside Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares in the area, has been shut down as first responders work at the scene. Traffic is expected to be affected, with delays reported in the vicinity of 9th Street.

MPD has advised motorists to seek alternate routes and exercise caution when driving in the area. Police are urging pedestrians to be vigilant and use designated crosswalks when navigating busy intersections.

As of now, it is unclear how long the lane closure will remain in effect, but authorities are working to clear the scene as quickly as possible. Local residents and commuters are encouraged to stay updated through official channels, including the Medford Police Department’s social media pages.

This crash marks the latest in a series of incidents involving pedestrians in the region, highlighting ongoing concerns about traffic safety in Medford. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
