Police officials said the 22-year-old granddaughter, later identified as Elise, was taken into custody and later charged with domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon after she reportedly stabbed her grandfather in the face.

The responding deputies reportedly found Elise’s grandfather and grandmother in the house. The elderly couple told investigators they argued with their granddaughter after they asked her to shower. Elise allegedly became irate and started to damage property inside the house. She then allegedly went outside and cut the power to the residence, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The responding deputies also said the grandparents tried to restrain Elise, but she escaped. She allegedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed her grandfather in the face. After allegedly sticking her grandfather with the kitchen knife, police said that Elise fled into the woods behind her grandparents’ home, where deputies found her several hours later and took her into custody.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. The condition of Elise’s grandfather has not been disclosed. The 22-year-old woman is currently being held without bond.
