GRANTS PASS, Ore. – A Grants Pass man is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with a March incident that left another man with significant head trauma. The victim, a 57-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital on March 4 after sustaining the injuries.

According to Grants Pass police, the man’s condition deteriorated over the following weeks, ultimately leading to his death. As a result, the case was handed over to the Major Crimes Unit for further investigation, and it was later reclassified as a homicide.

After weeks of investigation, authorities identified 30-year-old James Ross as a suspect in the case. Police located and arrested Ross on Sunday at the Robertson Bridge boat landing in Grants Pass.

Ross has been charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have yet to release further details about the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The tragic incident has left the Grants Pass community in shock, as the investigation continues to unfold.
