According to the police officials, the 28-year-old man, Blane, reportedly traveled more than 3000 miles to abduct and indcently assault (multiple times) a 14-year-old girl he met on Discord. He was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including: knowingly transporting an individual who had not attained the age of 18 years in interstate commerce with intent to engage in se-ual activity for which any person can be charged with a criminal offense and traveling in interstate commerce to engage in illicit se-ual conduct with another person between the ages of 12 and 16,

According to the federal criminal complaint, which was obtained by L&C, Blane was also charged with four counts of se-ual conduct with a minor, one count of kidnapping, one count of custodial interference, and one count of luring a minor for se-ual exploitation. During an interview with investigators, the 28-year-old man said that he met the 14-year-old girl, who was not identified due to her age, on a social media messaging app. The girl was only 13 when they started messaging.

On July 28, 2023, the 14-year-old girl was staying over at a friend’s house. She then disappeared, prompting an investigation. Investigators then discovered the long-running afair between the 14-year-old girl and Blane. They discovered that Blane and the girl agreed that he would drive her to a different state, to live with him at his residence. Officers found the suspect and the 14-year-old girl at his residence in the same bed, and both were nu-e. During an interview with investigators, the 28-year-old man reportedly said that he had recorded them having se-ual intercourse, which they watched, and then he deleted.

He also said that he introduced the 14-year-old girl as his 19-year-old girlfriend to his family and people at church. Blane also told investigators that he agreed to go and pick up the girl and take her across the country once she ‘told him that the conditions were bad at her home and that she wanted to leave.’ The 14-year-old girl reportedly told investigators that ‘she wanted to leave the current situation she was in at home, but also that she did not think that Blane would actually ever travel to her until shortly before it happened and she left with him.’
