The girl’s mom, Kristy, also pIeaded guilty to multiple charges, including human trafficking, and will testify against Jeremy. The trial will begin next month, court records say. The 39-year-old man, who initially pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but was found competent for trial, is now facing death sentence or life without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors said that the child testified that she didn’t told anyone because the defendant threatened to get her put in juveniIe detention.
One year after this incident, the defendant was charged with second-degree murder in connection with his 1-month-old daughter’s death. The child was kiIIed while the father was her babysitter and the baby’s mom was at work. Years later, the defendant reportedly confessed to kiIIing his baby daughter by hitting her and throwing her down stairs because she was crying.
