Medford Police Department Targets Retail Theft in Partnership with Kohl’s

Medford, OR – The Medford Police Department has taken a proactive stance in combating retail theft, as part of an initiative that resulted in the arrest of six individuals last month. In a joint operation with Kohl’s, local officers carried out a targeted enforcement detail aimed at preventing theft and addressing the growing concerns surrounding retail crime.

This collaboration between law enforcement and the retail sector is a demonstration of the vital role community partnerships play in tackling crime. The operation not only led to arrests but also provided an opportunity to protect Kohl’s employees, who are often left to handle thefts on a daily basis without seeing significant consequences.

The Medford Police Department emphasized that their approach to retail theft goes beyond simply making arrests. Officers actively worked to create a safer environment for employees, offering support in a situation that can often feel frustrating and isolating.

“This operation highlights the importance of collaboration with our community partners in addressing retail theft,” said a spokesperson for the department. “We take thefts at all levels seriously, and we understand how challenging it is for employees who witness these crimes regularly, with little accountability.”

As retail theft continues to be a concern across the region, the Medford Police Department’s efforts serve as a reminder of the ongoing commitment to protecting both businesses and their staff, while holding offenders accountable for their actions.
