    Mom, who was frequented the area, offered to seII her 1-year-old baby for money and when the ‘buyer’ refused to purchase the chiId, she walked away, leaving her baby daughter, who had a bruise on her face, behind; charged

    Police officials said the mom, later identified as 33-year-old Jesica, was taken into custody and later charged with chiId abuse, chiId neglect and seIIing or surrendering a minor for money or property after she reportedly tried to seII her baby to a stranger for several hundred dollars. The mother then abandoned her 1-year-old daughter when she couldn’t find a ‘buyer’ for the baby. 

    Earlier this month, the mother was seen walking around a store with her baby. The 911 caller told the dispatcher that they made contact with the mother, who reportedly asked the unidentified caller if they wanted to buy the baby for $500. When the unidentified caller told the mother that they she didn’t want to buy the baby, the mother left and left her baby, who had a bruise on her face, behind.

    The unidentified woman then took the baby with her and brought the child to the local police station. The mother was then arrested and taken into custody. She is being held on $250,000 bond and judge ordered that she will not have contact with her baby. 

    The Department of Children and Families took custody of the baby and was able to place the toddler in foster care. The unidentified 911 caller also told investigators that she knew the mother because the woman frequented the area. This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
