Police officials said the mom, later identified as 45-year-old Tiffany, was arrested and later charged with endangering the welfare of the child after she reportedly left her child alone so she could live with her boyfriend in a different state. Per reports, the mother reportedly left the boy without running water, heat and gas for 1 month.

Police officials started their investigation after witnesses reported that a child had been living alone at the home and that their mother had not been seen. Last month, officers executed a search warrant at the mother’s home and discovered that they boy was living alone. During an interview with investigators, the child reportedly said that he had been living alone in the home for 1 month. His mother reportedly returned only on occasion and unannounced.

The responding officers discovered that the mother’s home had no running water, gas or heat. The home was also filled with trash and spoiIed food. The unidentified child also told investigators that a relative would take him for grocery shopping. His mom sometimes would send him money via CshApp, the boy reportedly told authorities.

The child also told investigators that he sometimes attends school, but find it difficult to wake up in the morning because he is alone. School officials told officials that the boy was reported absent and late to school a number of times. The boy also relied on a relative to periodically take him to a grocery store and back to their home for a shower and to wash clothes. The boy lived at the home alone and was responsible for 2 dogs and 1 cat, police officials said.
