According to the court documents, the 34-year-old mom, Katie, pleaded guilty to chronic neglect of a child resulting in emotional damage and false imprisonment after she was arrested earlier this year for neglecting her two children. The mother is now facing a maximum of 36 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the defendant endangered the physical, mental, and emotional health of her two children (7 and 9 years old) for almost a year. Per reports, both children lived with the smeII of ur-ne and f-ces on a daily basis and were never bathed. Authorities began their investigation after neighbors called 911 earlier this year to report that two children were running on the street n-ked, covered in bI00d, f-ces, bruises, and red marks.

During an interview with investigators, the boy’s mother reportedly said that her children were home-schooled and reportedly admitted that they deserve better. She also said that she didn’t want her boys to lose the stability. The mother also told investigators that one of the boys could trace letters and read small words while another was learning how to put sentences together in proper form.

Prosecutors claim the boys were confined to their room for much of their lives. And the door had a latch on the outside and the windows were boarded shut. Prosecutors also say that almost every inch of their walls was covered in human f-ces. The mother will be sentenced on February 8 next year. The mother’s boyfriend, 38-year-old Joel, was also charged and is waiting for trial.
