Multiple Crashes on Icy Table Rock Road in Central Point

Central Point, OR — Early this morning, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to six motor vehicle crashes, including three rollovers, on Table Rock Road in Central Point. The accidents, which occurred before 9 a.m., were primarily attributed to hazardous icy conditions and dense fog, which have drastically reduced visibility throughout the Rogue Valley.

The affected area was concentrated around the notorious 90-degree corner of Table Rock Road, located south of Wheeler Road and west of Pumice Lane. This stretch of road has historically been prone to accidents in adverse weather conditions, and local officials are warning drivers to exercise caution.

Jackson County Roads crews were quickly deployed to mitigate the hazards. The teams worked to divert traffic around the crash sites and spread sand on icy sections of the road to improve traction. Despite their efforts, authorities continue to advise drivers to slow down, reduce speeds, and remain vigilant on the roads as conditions remain treacherous.

Emergency responders, including Jackson County Fire District 3 and Mercy Flights Inc., transported several individuals to local hospitals following the crashes. At this time, there has been no official update on the condition of those injured.

Officials have emphasized the need for caution, with icy conditions affecting much of Jackson County. Authorities are advising the public to plan for extra travel time and stay alert as the weather remains a significant factor in driving safety.
