Residents of Water’s Edge RV Park Defy Eviction Deadline Amid Uncertainty

GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Residents of the Water’s Edge RV Park along the Rogue River are standing firm against an impending eviction deadline, despite receiving formal notice from Jackson County earlier this year. The county has ordered the property owners to remove additional residents by April 1, following a notification in January.

The eviction notice has sparked concern and frustration among those who call the park home, many of whom are now facing the prospect of being displaced. However, despite the looming deadline, residents are making it clear they have no intention of leaving the property.

“We’re not leaving,” said Robert Zurline, a resident at Water’s Edge, speaking to NBC5 News. “We’ve got no other place to go.”

Zurline, who has lived in the park for an unspecified amount of time, added that his options are limited. “The only thing you can do is either put us in jail or tow us out of here, one of the two,” he said, expressing his frustration with the situation.

Jackson County officials have previously stated that nearby properties are allowed to operate as RV parks due to a grandfather clause, which raises questions about the fairness of the county’s decision to enforce the eviction at Water’s Edge.

As the deadline rapidly approaches, residents are left with uncertainty. Many are questioning the lack of communication and support from the county. With no clear plan for where they will go next, the residents of Water’s Edge RV Park remain steadfast, though the clock is ticking down on their time at the property.
