Medford, OR – According to the state officials, the directional closures mark important new steps in the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will improve safety and reduce bottlenecks between Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W.

On four nights starting Tuesday, Sept. 5, OR 217 will see alternating directional closures — one night southbound and one night northbound — at Southwest Hall Boulevard in Beaverton.

The closures will allow crews to set horizontal concrete box beams that will be part of the widened Hall Boulevard overpass over 217.

The wider overpass will make way for sidewalks and bike lanes.

    • On Tuesday night Sept. 5 and again on Thursday night Sept. 7, all southbound lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. During the closure, southbound traffic will exit the highway at Hall Boulevard.
    • On Wednesday night Sept. 6 and again on Friday night Sept. 8, all northbound lanes will be closed. On Wednesday night the northbound lanes will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on Friday night from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday. During the closure, northbound traffic will have to exit the highway at Southwest Scholls Ferry Road.
