According to the court documents, all four defendants, 66-year-old Mark, 36-year-old Joseph, 37-year-old Jonathan and 29-year-old Jordan, were found found guilty on charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States for distributing the unapproved and toxic drug. Prosecutors said that Jonathan and Jordan were also previously found guilty of contempt of court and each was sentenced to a total of 151 months in prison. Mark and Joseph were sentenced to 5 years in prison. The family made more than $1 million from selling the product.

Prosecutors said the 66-year-old dad and his 3 sons promoted and sold a ‘miracle cure for COVID-19’ that was actually a toxic industrial bleach. The family reportedly told customers that drinking their product, which they called “Miracle Mineral Solution”, would cure COVID-19, Alzheimer’s, autism, multiple sclerosis and even HIV/AIDS. But, according to the health experts, the chemicals in their solution, when ingested, reportedly cause the product to become chlorine dioxide, a powerful bleach, typically used for industrial water treatment or bleaching textiles, pulp, and paper.

During the COVID pandemic, the FDA reportedly issued an official warning to consumers advising them not to purchase or drink Miracle Mineral Solution as they received multiple reports of people who ingested the product suffering from severe v0miting and diarhea, low blood pressure caused by dehydration and acute liver failure. The agency released a statement, stating that drinking Miracle Mineral Solution was the same as drinking bleach. According to the court documents, Miracle Mineral Solution is reportedly a chemical solution containing sodium chlorite and water which, when ingested orally, became chlorine dioxide, a powerful bleach typically used for industrial water treatment or bleaching textiles, pulp, and paper.

The family reportedly marketed Miracle Mineral Solution as a cure for COVID-19, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and leukemia. The FDA had not approved Miracle Mineral Solution for any use. The 66-year-old father and his three sons reportedly sold tens of thousands of bottles of Miracle Mineral Solution nationwide. Prosecutors also said the family manufactured Miracle Mineral Solution in a dirty old shed, which contained multiple blue chemical drums with sodium chlorite powder and other items used in the manufacture of the product.
