Police officials said the mom, later identified as 26-year-old Alisha, was taken into custody and later charged with homicide and endangering the welfare of a child. Per reports, the woman reportedly killed her infant son by beating the baby to death. During an interview with investigators, the woman later said that her 3-year-old daughter reportedly beat the 3-month-old to death because she was jealous of the baby.

Last week, officers responded to the mother’s home after 911 call about an unresponsive baby. First responders made contact with the baby, who was not responsive, and rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead. During an interview with investigators, the 26-year-old mother reportedly said that her 3-year-old daughter, who was not identified due to her age, reportedly beat the newborn baby to death. The mother also told officers that they need to evaluate her 3-year-old child.

The 26-year-old mom also said that her daughter was the last person to see him alive and she’s been doing jealousy things. According to the police officials, the mother was staying at her cousin’s home. The cousin reportedly told investigators that when she called Alisha right before midnight, she heard the 3-month-old baby crying in the background. When Alisha’s cousin returned from home, she first checked on her 1-year-old, who was fine. Then she saw Alisha drinking alcohol before she began v0miting.

The cousin told officers that she went to check on Alisha’s children and saw that the baby was cold to the touch and not breathing. The unidentified woman reportedly found the baby between the 3-year-old girl and the AC unit. During an interview with investigators, the 26-year-old mom reportedly said: “If there’s anything that happened out of the ordinary, my 3-year-old child did it and ya’ll need to do something about that.” The medical examiner told investigators that the baby’s fatal injuries were inflicted by an adult and could not have been done by 3-year-old child.
