Medford, OR – According to the city officials, councilors reportedly approved a contract for $586,350 with Foldum Corportation.

The City’s consultant has advised staff that Foldum structures excel in their robust construction and durability, which is a critical factor for achieving lowest life-cycle cost in a use like the Urban Campground.

City officials also said that the primary funding source for this purchase is Senate Bill 5561, which provides money for programs or services that address housing insecurity, lack of affordable housing or homelessness.

On June 16, 2022, the City acquired land that will serve as a permanent location of the Urban Campground.

The City is currently working on building infrastructure to make the new location of the Urban Campground even more of a robust, successful low-barrier shelter than the current location is.

The new Urban Campground is located at 842-860 West McAndrews Road. The duplex units will be installed before January 10, 2024.
