Medford, OR – A Medford man was arrested last week after a road rage incident during which he allegedly threatened another driver with a firearm and later fired the weapon from his vehicle.
According to the Medford Police Department, the incident occurred on January 16th, on the 2100 block of Crater Lake Avenue. The victims reported that a man, later identified as 34-year-old Brandon Blackwell, had threatened them with a gun before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly began investigating the case and collecting statements.
Approximately 30 minutes later, the victim called the police again, reporting that Blackwell had returned. Following a brief verbal exchange, Blackwell reportedly fired a gun from his vehicle before leaving the area once more. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The victim was able to provide police with a description of the vehicle and a photo of the license plate. This information led officers to locate Blackwell the following day at a property on Gilman Road. Blackwell was taken into custody without incident.
As a convicted felon, Blackwell is now facing multiple charges, including menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities also recovered the firearm believed to have been used during the incident.
Blackwell is currently being held in the Jackson County Jail.
