GRANTS PASS, Ore. – The Mobile Integrative Navigation Team (MINT), a vital outreach organization serving the unhoused community in Josephine County, has announced changes to its operations due to warmer weather in the forecast.
The MINT’s inclement weather shelter, which has been a crucial resource during the colder months, will be closing as temperatures rise. The shelter had provided temporary relief to individuals experiencing homelessness during severe weather conditions, but with milder weather expected, MINT is shifting its focus.
Despite the shelter’s closure, the MINT Navigation Center will continue to operate as a resource hub, remaining open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 218 Redwood Highway in Grants Pass. The center offers essential services and support to those in need, including housing assistance, case management, and community resources.
In addition to the Navigation Center’s ongoing operations, MINT will relocate its Thursday Outreach event starting Thursday, February 20. The outreach will take place at the Newman United Methodist Church, located at 132 NE B Street in Grants Pass. Outreach hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., providing a crucial service for unhoused individuals in the area, including access to food, hygiene supplies, and other essentials.
MINT remains committed to its mission of assisting vulnerable populations and will continue to adapt its services to meet the evolving needs of the community.
For more information on MINT’s services, individuals are encouraged to visit the Navigation Center or attend the Thursday Outreach event.
