The Rogue Valley Transportation District has suspended a route that serves Ashland, Talent, Phoenix and Medford until further notice because of wildfires.

A temporary limited loop is in place that runs between the Ashland Plaza and the business park that houses Bi-Mart and Shop’n Kart on the south end of town.

“The route uses the same footprint as route 10 but does not go farther north than the Ashland Plaza,” according to a news release.

RVTD also has a special emergency service route that runs between Medford and Ashland through Saturday, Sept. 12. It runs from Medford at exit 27 to Ashland at exit 19. It travels south through Ashland, stopping at North Main and Maple streets, the Plaza, Southern Oregon University and the Shop’n Kart/Bi-Mart stop, then uses exit 14 at the south end of town to return to Medford.

The emergency service route started at 7 a.m. Thursday and continues until 6 p.m. Saturday.

All RVTD fare types will be accepted. Due to freeway congestion, the schedule may vary.

A shuttle is available between the Front Street Station and the South Gateway Walmart to provide transfers to and from Rogue Regional Medical Center. It departs approximately every half hour.
