According to the court documents, the 34-year-old father, later identified as Matthew, was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, kidnapping, and endangering children. Prosecutors said the father killed his 5-year-old son, Jax, who has autism. Matthew will be eligible for parole after spending 45 years in prison.
Per reports, the father called 911 and told the dispatcher that he killed his son. The father also told the dispatcher that ‘he was hearing voices.’ The responding officers found the 5-year-old victim in the living room suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The medical examiner told authorities that the boy suffered blunt force trauma to his head and face. During an interview with investigators, the father reportedly said that he did not know why he killed the child. Just 4 years before Matthew killed his 5-year-old autistic son, he pleaded no contest to child endangerment case.
According to the court documents, he then left the 1-year-old baby in the middle of a road and yelled at people. Back then, he told authorities that he took substances (meth and PCP). Jonathan, the victim’s uncle told prosecutors that the 5-year-old boy reportedly had autism and used a tablet to communicate.
