LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. – The search for 2-year-old Dane Paulsen, who went missing on March 1, remains a top priority for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and several local agencies. Despite an ongoing and extensive effort, there has been no new information on Dane’s whereabouts, and authorities continue to pursue all leads.

The primary area of focus for the search has been the Siletz River. On March 7, a boat equipped with specialized equipment covered approximately 14 miles of the river. This operation, part of a series of methodical searches, also included the use of underwater sonar technology and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) fitted with cameras to explore submerged areas of the river. The effort has been bolstered by local volunteers, who are assisting with personal watercraft to further expand the search area.

While the search intensifies, investigators have emphasized that there is no evidence suggesting foul play in the disappearance of the young boy. The sheriff’s office continues to work closely with multiple agencies, following up on tips and reviewing any new information that could lead to Dane’s discovery.

Authorities have requested that anyone with potentially relevant information contact the sheriff’s office tip line at 541-265-0669. Investigators are asking for as much detail as possible, including exact locations, times, or any photos or videos that could help in the search.

In addition to law enforcement efforts, the public has been urged to assist in the search under specific safety guidelines. Individuals participating are reminded to wear life jackets when near the river or on the riverbanks and to avoid areas where emergency responders are actively working. Searching at night or in low visibility conditions is strongly discouraged.

Those joining the search effort are also advised to bring necessary safety equipment, including a first aid kit, extra water, and a flashlight. Dressing for the weather conditions and terrain is essential, with waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear recommended. It is also critical that anyone planning to search informs someone of their plans for safety purposes.

As the search continues, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has expressed their gratitude for the community’s support and urged anyone with information to come forward. The hope remains that Dane will be found safe, with all available resources dedicated to the ongoing search.
