Medford, OR — U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland is set to visit Portland this Friday to meet with local, state, and federal law enforcement officials. The meeting, which will take place at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon, is scheduled to begin at 9:35 a.m.

During his visit, Garland will meet with U.S. Attorney Natalie K. Wight, as well as leaders from various law enforcement agencies. The session will start with brief opening remarks from Garland and Wight, both of which will be open to the press.

The Attorney General’s visit comes as part of a broader effort to strengthen collaboration and coordination among law enforcement agencies at all levels. Garland’s trip to Portland underscores the continued focus on addressing crime, enhancing public safety, and fostering cooperation among federal, state, and local agencies.

Details of the meeting’s agenda have not been fully disclosed, but it is expected that discussions will center around law enforcement priorities, community safety, and ongoing initiatives to combat crime in the region.

This visit marks another chapter in Garland’s ongoing efforts to engage with communities across the country and reinforce the Justice Department’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies in their work to protect the public.
