Medford, OR – According to the statement, the Oregon State Police Superintendent Casey Codding will present the award on the Governor’s behalf to Corporal Joseph Johnson’s family during his Memorial to be held on April 22, 2023. Governor Kotek issued a statement and statewide flag lowering order in recognition of Corporal Johnson’s passing and in honor of his service to his state. Corporal Johnson was also an Oregon Department of Corrections employee, assigned to Snake River Correctional Institution. Corporal Johnson is survived by his wife and two children. The Fallen Badge Foundation is accepting donations on behalf of the family.

Portland, OR – According to the city officials, four blocks of SW Park Avenue between SW Main and SW Clay streets will undergo weekly parking enforcement for street sweeping as part of the Portland Bureau of Transportation’s new sweeping and parking pilot project in downtown Portland starting April 26 between the hours of 10 p.m. Wednesday night and 5 a.m. Thursday morning.  The pilot will last for 12 weeks, with ongoing data collection and evaluation, to determine its effectiveness. Medford, OR – According to the statement, during the meeting, Medford Police Deputy Chief D.J. Graham explained what MPD has done, what they are doing, what they are planning, and what challenges they face. In March 2022, City Council members asked MPD to put together a pilot project of how they’ll address safety concerns in downtown Medford. Medford, OR – According to the city officials, detours using Hillcrest, Sunrise and Springbrook Roads will be in place. Officials also announced that this closure will allow contractor Knife River Materials to build retaining walls and other ramp and intersection improvements with Foothill Road. Once those ramps are complete and open, construction will switch to the west bound on and off-ramps June 12 through July 19.
