Medford, OR – According to the statement, these cameras are among a series of improvements between St. Helens Road and Tualatin Valley Highway, OR 8. Officials also said that this project marks the first major upgrades since March 2021 when ODOT took over operation of 8.1 miles of the road from Multnomah and Washington counties. Medford, OR – According to the state officials, there may be traffic delays on Three Mile Lane / OR18 Spur in McMinnville and OR 99W in Amity through the end of April. The Oregon Department of Transportation also said that they will use flagging and/or pilot cars for traffic control during deliveries, which may delay traffic up to 20 minutes at times. Medford, OR – According to the state officials, the 66-year-old man, who was not identified, reportedly blamed “elk fever” when he self-reported the incident, according to authorities. The subject expressed remorse after the event and had turned himself in. OSP Fish & Wildlife Troopers criminally cited the subject for: Hunting Prohibited Method: Shooting from Roadway; Unlawful Take/Possession of Antlerless Elk; and Unlawful Take/Possession of Bull Elk. Medford, OR – According to the state officials, this is reportedly a unique way for coastal commercial and recreational fishers to help fuel scientific research in the state’s near-shore waters. The Marine Preserves Program, administered by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, plans to target the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve near Port Orford and the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve near Garibaldi during this year’s hook-and-line surveys. Medford, OR – According to the statement, the Medford Fire Department reportedly partnered with members of the LDS, Unete, South Medford High School Red Cross Club, St. Mary’s High School and other community volunteers for the Sound the Alarm Campaign! Medford Fire Department crews reportedly went door-to-door checking and installing free, new smoke detectors and offered fire safety education. The Council then may provide direction on what changes should be explored. The City does have tree-related rules already on the books. Some include:  On all undeveloped properties or properties without land use approval, trees of a certain diameter must be kept. Bend, OR – According to the city officials, the City of Bend is preparing to do about $3.2 million worth of street preservation contract work this year that will improve approximately 37 lane miles in Bend. This includes about 18 lane miles of asphalt grind and inlay and about 19 lane miles of slurry seal treatments. Medford, OR – According to the Medford Fire Department officials, this amazing event was held at the annual Seattle Firefighter Stairclimb over the weekend. Ten members from the Medford Fire Department completed the event, along with firefighters from across the world. They raced up 69 flights of stairs (1,356 steps) while in full turnout gear (weighing about 40 pounds!). As a result, firefighters raised over $5,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
