Medford, OR — A 49-year-old man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly shooting his mother in a domestic violence incident on Alida Street. The suspect, identified as Cory A. Davidson of Ashland, faces multiple charges in connection with the shooting, which occurred just before 6 p.m.
According to the Ashland Police Department, Davidson shot his mother in both the leg and chest. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Rogue Regional Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.
Davidson was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree domestic violence, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police have not yet disclosed the details surrounding the motive for the shooting, but they continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the attack. No further information regarding the nature of the relationship between Davidson and his mother has been made available at this time.
