ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland Parks and Recreation (APR) has been working tirelessly to restore the city’s parks and facilities following significant weather impacts that caused damage and debris accumulation. In a recent update, APR provided the community with the latest status of several parks, trails, and recreational spaces.
As of February 15, vehicle access through Lithia Park has reopened, allowing visitors to drive through Winburn Way. However, parking in the area may be limited due to lingering snow and debris from the storm.
The Oak Knoll Golf Course has also seen adjustments to its operations. The driving range will operate with limited hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from February 15 to 17. Regular operating hours are set to resume on Tuesday, February 18.
One area still undergoing repairs is the Lithia Pickleball Courts. APR has reported that fencing repairs are necessary, and the courts are expected to reopen in early March.
Public restroom facilities in Ashland parks are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., ensuring that visitors have access to basic amenities while the restoration efforts continue.
The Japanese Garden, a popular local attraction, has resumed normal operating hours as of February 14, welcoming visitors once again. Meanwhile, the Hunter Park Tennis Courts are in varying conditions, with some courts still covered in snow. Despite this, most of the courts are now open for use.
Unfortunately, Little League Field #2 at Hunter Park remains closed for repairs, with an anticipated reopening scheduled for early March.
Trail closures are also in effect throughout various areas, including Siskiyou Mountain Park, the Ashland Watershed, and Hald Strawberry Park. Fallen trees and snow accumulation have made these trails unsafe for public use, and APR staff are actively working to clear the hazards. Reopenings will occur gradually as safety measures are implemented.
APR has expressed its gratitude to the community for its patience and understanding as crews continue to work diligently on the restoration process. Updates will be shared regularly until all affected parks and facilities are fully operational.
For more information on park status and reopening timelines, residents are encouraged to visit the Ashland Parks and Recreation website or follow their social media channels.
