Crash at East Medford Intersection Leaves Significant Damage to Homeowner’s Yard

Medford, OR – A late-night crash at the intersection of Cedar Links and Farmington in East Medford left a homeowner’s yard severely damaged, though no injuries were reported. The incident occurred around midnight on Saturday when two vehicles were reportedly spinning on the cul-de-sac on Farmington Avenue. Police had been called to the scene just moments earlier due to a noise complaint about the reckless driving.

According to Marianne Conklin, a homeowner in the area, she heard a loud crash shortly after the police had arrived. When she looked out her window, she was shocked to see one of the cars had crashed through her backyard fence and brick wall. Fortunately, the collision did not cause any damage to her home.

Conklin, who has lived in the neighborhood for several years, expressed concern over the frequent speeding in the area. “Everyone is out walking their dogs and just walking in general, and no one is watching out for the pedestrians. No one. And luckily, it happened at night, and no one was killed,” she said.

Medford Police later confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Meanwhile, the second vehicle fled the scene but was located by police a short time later. Authorities arrested three individuals from the fleeing car, all of whom had outstanding arrest warrants.

The crash highlights ongoing concerns about traffic safety in the area. Residents have long reported issues with speeding and reckless driving on Farmington Avenue, particularly around the intersection with Cedar Links. Local authorities have not provided further comment on the incident, and the Medford Police Department declined to release additional details when contacted.

The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear whether any charges will be filed in relation to the crash or the fleeing vehicle.
