CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) marked an important milestone this week with a swearing-in ceremony, where several members of the department received promotions, and a new hire was welcomed to the team.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday at the Sheriff’s Office, was attended by staff, family, and community members, all gathered to recognize the achievements of the department’s personnel. Sheriff Nate Sickler led the event, swearing in the new lieutenants, sergeants, corporal, and deputy, each taking the next step in their careers within the organization.

Among those promoted were Lieutenant Ainsworth, Lieutenant Richmond, Sergeant Amaya, Sergeant Grissom, Sergeant Kolkemo, Corporal Auchard, and Deputy Wilson. The department took to social media following the ceremony to publicly congratulate the individuals on their new roles.

In his remarks, Sheriff Sickler offered advice to the newly promoted leaders, urging them to embrace their leadership roles with responsibility and empathy. “As you move forward, be leaders, not managers,” Sheriff Sickler said. “Look out for your people and do a good job.”

The ceremony highlighted not only the recognition of hard work and dedication within the department but also the importance of leadership in law enforcement. Sheriff Sickler’s words emphasized the need for compassion and commitment to community well-being, qualities that are essential for effective leadership in today’s law enforcement climate.

With the addition of the new hires and the promotions, the JCSO continues to strengthen its leadership team, ensuring that the department is prepared to meet the challenges of law enforcement in Jackson County.

As the department moves forward, these new leaders will play an integral role in shaping the future of the JCSO, fostering a culture of respect and accountability both within the department and across the community they serve.
