KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. – A suspected drug dealer is behind bars following a significant drug bust near Klamath Union High School. Thomas Walter Anderson, 58, was arrested Wednesday by the Basin Inter-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) after being under surveillance by law enforcement.

According to the Klamath Falls Police Department, BINET officers had been monitoring Anderson and his activities before moving in for his arrest. Authorities say Anderson gave consent for both a search of his person and his hotel room. Upon conducting the search, officers discovered a half ounce of fentanyl, individually packaged for sale, in addition to methamphetamine and other evidence pointing to drug distribution. Officers also found over $1,000 in cash, further supporting their case against the suspect.

Anderson now faces multiple drug-related charges, including possession and distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat the growing presence of illicit drugs in the region, especially in areas near schools where young people could be exposed to harmful substances.

The Klamath Falls Police Department, along with BINET, continue to investigate the case as part of a broader initiative to combat drug trafficking in the area.

The case underscores the growing concern surrounding fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid that has been responsible for a rising number of overdose deaths across the United States. Local authorities are urging the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent the further spread of dangerous drugs.
