Medford, OR – A Medford man was arrested following a road rage incident on January 16 that involved threats and gunfire. According to reports from the Medford Police Department, the incident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Crater Lake Avenue when a driver reportedly threatened victims with a handgun before fleeing the scene.

The victims, who were able to provide detailed statements, immediately contacted authorities, prompting a swift investigation. About 30 minutes later, the same suspect allegedly returned to the area. After a brief verbal exchange, the suspect fired a gun from his vehicle while fleeing the scene again. No injuries were reported, though the victims did provide a description of the vehicle and a photo of the license plate.

Officers quickly identified the suspect as 34-year-old Brandon Blackwell of Medford, a convicted felon. Police were able to locate Blackwell the following morning at a property on Gilman Road. After surrounding the location and making announcements, Blackwell surrendered without resistance and was taken into custody.

The firearm believed to have been used in the incident was recovered by law enforcement. Blackwell was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The case is being prosecuted by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses.
