KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Crews are continuing cleanup efforts at Moore Park in Klamath Falls after last month’s winter storm caused significant damage to the park. The city announced on Thursday that certain areas of the park will reopen next week.
Starting Monday, March 10, the entrance road gate leading to the Gingerbread House, tennis courts, and playground areas will be open to the public. The city reminded visitors to exercise caution around trees, as some branches may still be weakened due to the storm.
However, not all areas of the park will be accessible just yet. Portions of the park marked in yellow on the official map remain closed until further notice. The exit gate on Lakeshore Drive will remain locked, and the loop road will remain blocked off at the picnic area and exit loop road.
City officials also stated that crews are awaiting drier conditions before reopening some of the lawn areas, which are currently too saturated to safely open to the public.
Visitors planning to enjoy Moore Park in the coming days are encouraged to check for updates from the city on any further closures or changes.
