Authorities released a statement, saying the 36-year-old mom, Shaneka, was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder after she reportedly killed her young son, later identified as 8-year-old Jaisen. Per reports, the mother reportedly took tablecloth and used it to suffocate and strangle her young son while he was asleep in the rear passenger seat, then drove around running errands while the child’s lifeless body was still behind her!

Police officials released a statement saying that they are still investigating and trying to determine a possible motive. Per reports, the doctors called the authorities after the mother showed up at the local hospital with her son’s body. The medical examiner told investigators that the cause of death was asphyxiation.

During an interview with investigators, the 36-year-old mom reportedly said that she reportedly ‘planned to kill her son and was thinking of doing it for the past couple days’. The woman reportedly used tablecloth and used it to suffocate and strangle her young son while he was asleep in the rear passenger seat, then drove around running errands while the child’s lifeless body was still behind her!

Hours after she killed her son, the woman drove his body to the local hospital. Local news outlets reported that the 36-year-old mother was homeless and had been staying in various motels in the area for the last couple of months. The victim’s father died in an accident when his son was about a year old, WTVJ reported. Authorities are still investigating and trying to determine a possible motive.
